Building on the foundation of ARCS educational programs for the Romanian community (Romanian in High School, The Center of Excellence ROACT and Club Piticot),  in Winter 2019, Ileana Marin and Otilia Baraboi initiated a course exploring art, literature and film, at the University of Washington. This course is addressed to both heritage students of Romanian origin and American students who want to know more about this understudied topic. The course is funded by the American Romanian Cultural Society, thanks to the tuition fees from the Romanian in the High School program and part of the campaign for the Romanian Film Festival, alongside with private donations. More details about the course on our website and the Slavic Languages and Literatures Department, home to Eastern European languages and cultures, Romanian included.
